Ingredients

For the Beef

  • Flank steak or sirloin: 1 lb, thinly sliced against the grain
  • Cornstarch: 1/2 cup (for coating the beef)
  • Vegetable oil: For frying
  • Salt and pepper: To taste

For the Sauce

  • Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
  • Brown sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Rice vinegar: 2 tbsp
  • Ketchup: 1/4 cup
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger: 1 tsp, minced (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes: 1/2 tsp (optional, for heat)
  • Cornstarch: 1 tbsp mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

For the Stir-Fry

  • Bell peppers: 1 red and 1 green, sliced
  • Onion: 1 medium, sliced
  • Green onions: 2, chopped (for garnish)
